When anxiety and fear arise, we often fail to remember God’s great power and ultimate control in our lives. Oftentimes, life’s storms overshadow the goodness of God in our perception, especially with the pandemic going on. We tend to ask: is God still in control? Why is God allowing things to happen? Where is God during this difficult time? Worse, we turn back with our faith and cease in worship.
Is God really in control? If you have asked such a question, you are not alone. At Nu ViZion World Harvest Ministries Int’l, a Christian ministry in Wilmington, Delaware, we trust that when we truly believe that God is in control ─ anxiety and fear will not have a place in our lives. When Joshua was appointed to lead the people into the promised land after Moses’ death, all he knew was that God is in control of the situation, and He would lead them to the land God promised. He commanded Joshua, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord, your God, will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9) God’s ultimate control demonstrates as He fulfilled His promise to Joshua and His people to bring them to the promised land, after an agonizing 40 years in the desert.
We need to strengthen our relationship with God and implore his interventions to liberate us from any situation we are in. Fighting the current unseen battle, the coronavirus pandemic, is both a health and spiritual challenge for us. As a World Harvest Ministries in Delaware, we pray that the pandemic evokes a deeper kind of healing that only God can give. After all, God is in control.
